Things Sawyer likes: New friends, dogs, people, Bullwrinkles, her fox and racoon, Riley and Rex, and plastic water bottles.
I had a few people ask about a video from the disc trial. Unfortunately I didn’t think to take one.. (I promise I’ll get one next month)
But here is Sawyer and I practicing in the backyard.
ESBC Week 3: Blanket Roll
The above gif should say it all. Your dog has to roll themselves (burrito style) into a blanket. This one might require teaching more than 1 command depending on how you tackle it.

First on behalf of Nicole (Emma’s mom) and myself, I just wanted to congratulate everyone that has participated in ESBC so far. The first week was super successful and it was great to see everyone’s pups improve through-out the week. Great job, everyone!

ESBC: BOW
Sawyer still won’t do this without a lure (as you can see in the video), but it’s pretty consistent. We will absolutely continue to work on this. Very excited for next week! Hopefully we can continue to grow our numbers in ESBC.
Sawyer has an upset stomach today, so we won’t be practicing our ESBC bow today.
Says the person who just sent me a picture of a near perfect bow…
Jerks.
Meanwhile, Emma will let me hold the stomach and will momentarily hold the position.. I try to get her to do it on her own. She just lays her butt down. smh.
Pfft, I told you. No treats! Used fetch as a reward :)
Kuma keeps backing up. Is there another way to teach a dog how to bow?
What I do with Sawyer is put the treat/toy in between her front paws toward her chest for like 2 seconds. See if that method works, if not we can go back to the drawing board.
